2024 조합론 학술대회가 8월 28일(수요일)부터 8월 30일(금요일)까지 청주에 위치한 충북대학교에서 개최될 예정입니다.

학회는 다섯개의 초청강연을 포함한 일반강연으로 이루어질 예정인데, 초청강연을 해주실 연사분들은

This is the first announcement for the "2024 Combinatorics Workshop" which
will be held at Chungbuk National University in Cheongju.

The designated hotel for the conference is the Gloucester Hotel (

General participants are responsible for their own accommodation

but if requested at the time of registration, we can reserve a room for you.
We provide all lunch and dinner during the entire workshop, but general
participants will be required to pay for their own accommodations.
Limited support for the accommodation might be available.

We would like to announce that the 2024 Summer School on Combinatorics and
Algorithms will be held in KAIST for a week from July 22nd (Mon). (

We kindly request your interest and participation, and would appreciate if
you could share the information below with colleagues and students who may
be interested.
The summer school is a venue for students and early-career researchers to
learn selected topics in theoretical computer science and discrete
mathematics.
This summer, two lecture series, combinatorial optimization and grid minor
theorem will be given by two leading experts on the subjects.
Below are the details of the summer school schedule and programs.

I hope you spend the new semester with joy.
I am writing this email to promote the CART seminar starting next week, run by Sin-Myung Lee at KIAS and myself. The CART (Combinatorics And Representation Theory) seminar will mainly focus on research works at the intersection of representation theory and combinatorics. The presentations are planned to be primarily online, but if possible, we also plan to conduct them offline at KIAS.

Title: Acyclic matchings on Bruhat intervals
Abstract: Discrete Morse theory, developed by Forman, is an efficient tool to determine the homotopy type of a regular CW complex. The theory has been reformulated by Chari in purely combinatorial terms of acyclic matchings on the face poset. In this talk, I will discuss explicit constructions of such acyclic matchings on Bruhat intervals using reflection orders. As an application, we show the totally nonnegative Springer fibres are contractible, verifying a conjecture of Lusztig. This is based on joint work with Xuhua He.
